Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one body.
You need to be honest with yourself and with those around you. You need to look your loved ones in the eyes and tell them the truth about your burdens and about your successes. None of us are alone on an island in this life. We are one body and as such we greatly affect each other. When we confess to others, we are cleansing ourselves and building stronger bonds with others. You cannot have lies and undisclosed issues between you and others if you want close healthy relationships. Let us look at it from this standpoint. We have had a plane crash on a deserted island and we each have been given our jobs to help the group survive. My job is to monitor and ration fresh water. When the leader of the group asks me how the water supply is, what does it do to tell him that all is well when in reality it is getting low and I cannot find any other sources. I’m not the only one this would affect. I’m hurting others as bad as I am hurting myself. My actions, my falsehoods, go beyond my personal world. What lies are you telling yourself? What things can you be truthful about though it be painful and build the bond with those close to you?
